Album Description:
Singable and folksy, with a twist! These songs are about moldy walls, summer love, snakes, lakes, and earwax. Their intricate melodies and rhymes effect theatrical storytelling with silly little moments. Some address queer topics, and each of them is queer or ‘odd’ in the antiquated sense. My ‘jazz Autoharp’, Emma, provides rich chordal accompaniment for most of the tracks, and Chaz the Nose Flute whistles playfully. You’ll also hear the harmonica, foot percussion, and of course the musical spoons. This is my first album and was recorded with a live studio audience at Lakewinds Music in Washburn, WI in the summer of 2024.
You can sing too! Yes, you can! I’ll make it easy for ya. Sing along with the lyric music videos available on my YouTube channel in the playlist ‘Country Queer Balladeer’. Also, if you play an accompanying instrument, you can use the PDFs with lyrics and chord symbols to learn how to play the songs yourself (available through my website, or with Bandcamp digital download).
The cost for a CD or digital download is sliding scale $5 - $25, depending on what you are able to give. You can also stream the songs on YouTube, Bandcamp, or your favorite streaming service. Sincerely, thank you so much for listening and singing along! I hope you will enjoy these songs in your own way.
